EDGE Amsterdam West

On behalf of Bosman Bedrijven Vink Systemen will provide the complete air-technical installation for the EDGE project in Amsterdam. EDGE Amsterdam West is a 48,000m² redevelopment of an office building from 1970. The building was designed by former de Architekten Cie architect, Oyevaar. Basisweg 10, is located in the transforming neighborhood of Amsterdam West with APG and Alliander as main tenants. The building will be upgraded to an advanced and sustainable office building that meets the highest standards in terms of sustainability, technology and health.

A new and spectacular glass dome is placed on the building. In this way, the unused outdoor space is transformed into the new heart of the building. It will be a meeting place with a lot of natural daylight, so that more quality workplaces can be created. The dome has a micro geometric design that nods to Oyevaar's thinking.

All facades of the building will be completely renovated. The windows have been replaced by new and high bay windows with high quality glass. The character of the existing building will be preserved by respecting the current rhythm of bricks, bay windows and horizontal aluminum slats.

The former exterior facade in the atrium has been given a new shape with new materials. By fully glazing these, the deep office floors get more natural daylight. The elevator shafts have been replaced by four prominent staircases to guide tenants in making healthy choices. The first floor has large terraces to create additional meeting places. This is also the ideal place to experience the atrium and the dome.
